Michael Legare

Appointed Vice-President, Digital Transformation in March 2018, Michael oversees the portfolio of strategic initiatives for National Bank including open banking and banking as a service. Michael also focuses on driving efficiency, simplicity, innovation and culture change across the organisation.

Previously, Michael served as Senior Director of Digital Strategy and Performance and was responsible for National Bank’s digital strategy, the performance of digital channels, and a portfolio of digital projects that cut across all sectors of the bank.

Michael joined National Bank in 2014 as Senior Director, Digital Channels. In this capacity, he was primarily responsible for the bank’s public and secure online channels, digital marketing, and the delivery of digital projects.

Prior to joining National Bank, Michael held various strategic executive positions in Montreal and Toronto in the software, travel, entertainment, and financial industries. With over 25 years of experience covering all areas of the digital landscape, Michael draws on a unique balance of technical, business, and creative skills to help established companies adapt to an ever increasing digital world.

Michael has a bachelor’s degree in Administration from Concordia University, an MBA from McGill University, and a degree in Cybersecurity from Harvard.
