Acquired, the next-generation payments platform redefining recurring payments, has today unveiled Acquired Billing, a specialist billing engine designed to help businesses manage recurring revenue more effectively across the full payment lifecycle.
Recurring payments represent a significant opportunity for businesses that depend on repeat customer relationships, from financial services and lending to subscriptions, memberships and recurring commerce. But as businesses scale, billing and payments can quickly become fragmented, with merchants often relying on separate systems to manage onboarding, billing, payment acceptance, retries, reporting and customer recovery.
Acquired Billing has been built to address this challenge by providing businesses with a unified platform to manage recurring payments from initial customer setup through to collection, recovery, and retention. With a single integration, businesses can host and manage billing, create flexible subscription plans, set custom start dates and payment intervals, manage free trials and discounts, and update active subscriptions without disrupting the customer experience.
The launch expands Acquired’s recurring payments platform, which brings together three core capabilities: Acquired Billing, Acquired Acceptance and Recover. Together, these products help businesses convert more customers, protect recurring revenue and recover failed payments more intelligently.
Greg Cox, co-founder and chief executive officer of Acquired and Quint Group, said: “Recurring payments have the potential to create significant value for businesses, but too often that value is lost through fragmented systems, failed payments and poor customer experiences.
“Acquired Billing has been built around the way recurring commerce actually works. Businesses need to convert customers smoothly, collect payments reliably, recover failed payments intelligently and retain more customers over time. By bringing those capabilities together in one platform, we are helping merchants manage the whole recurring payments lifecycle with greater control and confidence.”
The launch continues Acquired’s strong momentum in 2026. In June, the company announced its leading role as founding shareholder of the new UK Payments Initiative (UKPI), creating a new framework for recurring account-to-account payments, expanding Open Banking payments and supporting the UK Government’s National Payments Vision.
Matt Whetton, chief technology officer at Acquired, added: “Billing should not sit separately from payments. For businesses built on recurring revenue, the most important moments occur across the full lifecycle: onboarding customers, capturing the right payment details, successfully collecting payments, reducing failed payments, and recovering customers when something goes wrong.
“Acquired Billing gives businesses the flexibility to manage subscriptions and repeat payments, the intelligence to optimise collection, and the tools to recover more revenue when payments fail. It is another step in building specialist infrastructure for businesses that want to get more value from every recurring customer relationship.”
Acquired’s platform supports merchants across card payments, direct debit, Open Banking, Pay by Bank and VRPs, helping businesses offer customers the right payment method at the right moment. By combining broad payment capabilities with specialist recurring payments infrastructure, Acquired helps merchants deliver a more seamless onboarding experience, improve payment performance, and maximise customer lifetime value.
Acquired is an Event Partner of Open Banking Expo UK & Europe 2026, which takes place on 13-14 October at the Business Design Centre in London. Click here to find out more.
