The Financial Data and Technology Association (FDATA), a trade association representing more than 30 financial technology companies and consumer-permissioned data access platforms across the United States and Canada, has announced the appointment of Kat Cloud, head of government relations at Sumsub, to its board of directors.
Kat brings deep expertise in digital identity, fraud prevention, and financial services regulation, with a particular focus on ensuring that innovation in financial technology is paired with strong consumer protections and security standards. Her work centers on advancing responsible approaches to identity verification, data access, and compliance as financial services continue to digitize.

At Sumsub, Kat leads government relations and public policy engagement, shaping global standards for identity verification, fraud mitigation, and secure digital onboarding. Kat works closely with global policy makers, regulators and institutions such as INTERPOL, the World Economic Forum, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the Financial Conduct Authority to align industry innovation with robust safeguards for identity verification and fraud prevention. Her work focuses on ensuring that regulatory frameworks keep pace with technological innovation while enabling financial inclusion and consumer trust.
