Ekaterina Borisova is a Technical Specialist at the Smart Data Accelerator within FCA Innovation, where she leads the FCA’s work on smart data, digital verification and the technical infrastructure required to support secure, interoperable data ecosystems. She drives cross-sector and cross-border smart data initiatives, working at the intersection of regulation, innovation and technology to drive meaningful change. Previous expertise includes payments, open banking and crypto policy, as well as fintech and buy-now-pay-later.

Simone Plances leads the Smart Data Accelerator at the FCA, driving innovation in the infrastructure, standards and technologies that will power the future of open finance. He brings together industry, policymakers and technology partners to test new approaches to data sharing, digital verification, infrastructure, interoperability and consumer empowerment through proofs of concept, technology pilots and collaborative innovation programmes. With international experience across Italy, Brussels and London, Simone combines expertise in financial services, emerging technologies and regulatory policy to help shape the next generation of digital financial ecosystems.
