Leatherback, a global cross-border financial platform, has moved a step closer to its goal of unifying the world’s 183+ currencies by partnering with Yapily, a leading Open Banking infrastructure provider.

This partnership will power seamless GBP account-to-account payments for both UK-based businesses and global merchants selling to customers in the UK, through its powerful API ‘Fusion-by-Leatherback’.

Collecting payments is still a major challenge for many businesses. Card payments come with high fees, delayed settlements, failed transactions, and checkout pages that feel disconnected from the brand.

With this integration, businesses using Fusion-by-Leatherback can let their customers pay directly from their UK bank accounts, with no cards involved. This means no card fees, faster access to funds, and higher success rates, especially for recurring or large payments.

Beyond functionality, the integration gives businesses full ownership of the payment experience. They can embed their logo, brand colours, and messaging into the payment flow, ensuring a cohesive brand experience that builds trust, reduces drop-offs, and enhances the overall customer journey.

This partnership with Yapily is part of Leatherback’s long-term mission to remove obstructions to how businesses move and manage money across borders.
