OpenBankingExpo,
03 Jun 2025

Open Banking Expo has unveiled its Powerlist 2025, celebrating 42 key figures driving change and innovation across Open Banking and Open Finance in Canada.

The annual Powerlist has been launched in advance of this year’s Open Banking Expo taking place June 17 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The list recognises a diverse mix of leaders and rising stars from across the ecosystem – including banks, fintechs, policy-makers, and technology providers – who are helping to shape the future of Canada’s financial services landscape.

Influential figures in this year’s Powerlist include Abraham Tachjian (PwC Canada), Michelle Beyo (Finavator), Eyal Sivan (Ozone API), Andrew Moor (EQ Bank) and Saba Shariff (Symcor), who are each contributing to the evolution of Open Banking in Canada in unique ways.

The full Powerlist is available to view here, where the industry is invited to vote for their Standout Five – the five individuals who inspire them most. Voting will close at 14:00 EST on June 17, and the final Standout Five will be revealed live on stage at Open Banking Expo Canada at 17:30 the same day, with trophies presented to each winner. A drinks reception will follow the announcement.

“We’re excited to celebrate their achievements and give the industry a chance to vote for the individuals who have truly stood out.”

This year’s Open Banking Expo Canada is set to take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), with Shereen Benzvy Miller, Commissioner at the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, revealed as the keynote speaker.

The event is the only one in Canada dedicated exclusively to Open Banking and Open Finance.
