Open Banking Expo has raised more than £1,700 for The Money Charity via ticket sales for this year’s Open Banking Expo Awards and on-the-night donations.
Each ticket sold to the Awards ceremony included a £15 donation to The Money Charity, helping more people across the UK achieve financial wellbeing, while QR code donations on the night also encouraged further donations.
Through a combination of workshops, webinars and resources, as well as through its policy and research work, The Money Charity empowers individuals to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to make the most of their money throughout their lives.
Since 2010, the charity’s Financial Education Money Workshops have helped more than 340,000 young people to be more engaged with their money and, each year its Financial Wellbeing Workshops help up to 10,000 UK adults, in workplaces and community groups to get to grips with their money.
Kelly Stanley, co-founder and director of Open Banking Expo, said: “We are proud partners and supporters of The Money Charity, whose work advancing financial capability in the UK is more vital than ever.
“I’d like to thank all those who donated to such an incredible cause – we’re thrilled to be able to present The Money Charity with the money raised.”
Michelle Highman, chief executive officer of The Money Charity, said: “Thank you so much to everyone at Open Banking Expo for their amazing donation of £1,700.
“This will help us in our vital work building financial wellbeing across the UK, in schools, colleges, community groups and workplaces. We really appreciate our partnership. Thank you!”
