Prommt, the premium pay-by-link platform for remote payments, has announced a partnership with Payit by NatWest.
Payit is an award-winning Open Banking solution from NatWest enabling a way to send and receive payments instantly without the need for bank or card details. Together, the companies are revolutionising how businesses collect payments, making the process faster, more secure and more cost effective.
Through this powerful integration, corporate clients and merchants can now offer their customers a seamless digital alternative to manual bank transfers. Whether paying by card or bank, the experience is intuitive, merchant-branded and optimised for conversion.
Payit from NatWest allows businesses to receive instant, secure payments directly from customers’ bank accounts — with no need to share sort codes or account numbers. There are no card schemes or interchange fees, making it particularly attractive for high-value transactions.
Immediate confirmation of funds
Payit enables immediate payments and instant confirmation of funds. Prommt delivers real-time notifications to all parties to confirm payment success. The merchant’s payment reference data can be attached to the inbound bank payment making it much easier to reconcile, enabling quick fulfilment.
Smart payment orchestration
Prommt acts as a smart orchestration layer, enabling merchants to set transaction rules that dynamically present Payit (Pay By Bank) or Tyl by NatWest (card payment) based on the value of the transaction. This is the first time these two solutions have been combined and offers an intelligent approach that ensures a smooth payment experience for customers, while helping businesses reduce costs and streamline operations.
Secure, seamless, powerful
The joint solution offers a rich set of features, including:
- A powerful web portal for sending branded payment requests via SMS, email, or link packed with additional features such as scheduled send, group send, recurring payments, autocharge and more.
- Available via the Prommt API for easy integration into web checkouts, mobile apps, and ERP systems.
- A familiar digital journey via customers’ banking apps.
- Enhanced security with bank-authenticated payments and confirmation of payee.
- Significant reduction in fraud, chargebacks, and manual errors.
Real-world impact in automotive sector
The partnership has already made a strong impact in the market. A leading UK automotive dealership group with 22 locations has selected Payit powered with Prommt to manage payments across car sales, service, and parts. With immediate confirmation of funds, dealers can now offer a “drive away today” service, enhancing customer satisfaction while improving operational efficiency and fraud prevention.
