Andrew Self

Andrew Self is the interim Head of department for open finance and open banking at the FCA. He joined the FCA from the PSR, and brings a wealth of experience in open banking, having led the PSR’s work in this area since 2022. Prior to this, he was the senior manager responsible for access to cash and digital payments. Although he began his career in financial services, working on credit pricing and economic analysis, most of his experience is in regulatory policy. Before joining the PSR, he spent a decade at the energy regulator, leading teams in supervisory and policy roles across retail, wholesale, and regulated networks.
