Jamie Kruspel, chief transformation officer at Mainstreet Credit Union, reveals which providers are likely to benefit the most from the successful delivery of Open Banking in Canada, and what he’s anticipating about Open Banking Expo Canada.

1. Where do you expect “Made in Canada” Open Banking to be in September?

In September, people in Canada will know it means to have ‘Open Banking’.

2. What, in your opinion, is the most critical piece of the Open Banking puzzle?

The most critical piece of the Open Banking puzzle is for our banking customers and members to know and appreciate the value of ‘Open Banking’.

3. Who stands to benefit the most from the successful delivery of the roadmap?

Most? The customer or member of a financial institution – they will have easy access to the best financial tool for each of the various financial needs. The providers that will benefit most are those that make it easiest to use their tool – take away all the friction.

4. What are you most excited for at Open Banking Expo Canada?

I am most excited to see the progress made since last year and how we are bringing this concept to Canadians.

Jamie Kruspel will be taking part in a panel debate, ‘Strategies for a stable and secure Canadian financial system’, at Open Banking Expo Canada on June 15, in Toronto. Find out more about the agenda and get your tickets here.
