Real-time clearing and embedded banking platform ClearBank has hired Andrew Barker as its new chief revenue officer.

Barker joins from SAP Signavio where he was senior vice president of EMEA North, helping the business to expand in Europe and on a global scale.

At ClearBank, Barker will work on the development of its go-to-market operations as part of its international growth ambitions, following a £175 million equity investment in March.

The investment was led by Apax Digital, the growth equity arm of a leading global private equity advisory firm Apax.

At the time, ClearBank said its growth plans will start with Europe before moving into North America and Asia Pacific.

Barker will report directly to ClearBank’s CEO Charles McManus.

McManus said: “Across financial services, we’re seeing many of the big UK brands expanding their reach, across Europe and internationally.

“The right strategy and the right offering are crucial for a successful expansion, and Andrew will be key to this process.”

Barker called it “an exciting time of growth for the business”, and added: “Helping to bring ClearBank’s unique offering to more businesses in new markets is a fantastic opportunity.”

ClearBank provides over 13 million accounts to the customers of leading financial brands and has a customer base of more than 200 financial institutions and fintechs, including Tide, Coinbase, Chip and OakNorth Bank.
