Dutch fintech Mollie has partnered with Mazda Motor Europe to provide “frictionless” payments through the automotive company’s marketplace platform.

Under the multi-year agreement, Mazda will use Mollie’s ‘Connect for Platforms’ product across the UK and Europe, to create a marketplace that will allow it to scale new products and ensure payments are sent to the correct regional dealer.

Among the features that Connect for Platforms provides are hosted onboarding, intelligent dashboard, and global and local payment methods, which Mazda said means its regional dealers will be able to sell products and services “via the global brand with ease”.

“The future of online sales lies in marketplaces, and we are delighted to be working with Mazda to help them grow this business offering further,” said Ken Serdons, Mollie CCO.

“We’re excited to pioneer this innovative next step for the automotive industry and work with Mazda to develop future-focused ecommerce products and marketplace solutions.”

Mazda is already using Mollie’s Connect for Platforms product in Europe and plans to roll out it to the rest of Europe in the second half of 2022.

Matthias Sileghem, VP customer experience, communications and public affairs at Mazda Motor Europe, added: “As we roll out our marketplace offering across the UK and, ultimately, throughout Europe, the simple, localised and transparent solutions that Mollie offers allows us to remain focused on our growth and our customers.”

Mollie was founded in 2004 and now has offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, England and Portugal.
