Open Banking Exchange to host Summit on Open Finance in Colombia

Not-for-profit organisation Open Banking Exchange is to host a Summit on 12 August, that will bring together key stakeholders for the launch of a Colombian Open Finance programme.

The Open Banking Exchange-hosted Summit, with the participation of the Colombian Ministry of Finance and the Financial Superintendent of Colombia, will mark the launch of a membership programme that will give regulators, fintechs and financial institutions an opportunity to collaborate and share international best practices to accelerate their learning and understanding of Open Banking and Open Finance in the region.

Victor Rivera, SVP at Open Banking Exchange, said: We are very happy to support the development of open finance in Colombia and Latin America as we believe collaboration among players will drive innovation, bringing better products and services to the population.”

Among the speakers confirmed for the Summit agenda are John Broxis, managing director at Open Banking Exchange and Colin Martin-Reynolds CMG, British Ambassador to Colombia.

Ana Maria Prieto, deputy director at URF and head of Open Finance implementation, will speak at the Summit about the objectives and challenges for implementing Open Finance, while Sekure CEO and founder Rodrigo Alfonso will deliver his perspectives from an API provider.

Broxis added: “Promoting collaboration and best practice in Open Banking supports the work of the regulators. We believe Open Banking Exchange has an important role to play in the development of the open finance ecosystem.”
