Qualco Live returns for its fifth year on 22 October, co-located with Open Banking Expo UK & Europe, bringing together business leaders, innovators, and changemakers under the theme Adapt to win: Thriving in an age of constant change.
Among the day’s standout moments, Sarah Furness, a former RAF combat helicopter pilot with 21 years of frontline experience, will deliver a keynote session titled ‘Leadership lessons from the frontline’. Having led Special Forces missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, Furness will share field-tested strategies to help leaders stay calm under pressure, think clearly, and make better decisions when it counts.
Expect an honest and thought-provoking session that translates battlefield lessons into everyday leadership, helping attendees build bullet-proof mindsets and future-proof their organisations.
“Being a great leader starts with inner work. Learn about yourself so you can show up as the leader you want to be,” says Furness.
Furness joins an impressive Qualco Live lineup that includes ASOS co-founder Nick Robertson, who will share candid lessons on navigating disruption and building resilience in retail, and Marko Sjoblom, chief executive officer of Fiinu, exploring what consumer finance could look like in 2055. The day also features discussions on AI in collections, macroeconomic trends, and the power of partnerships in financial services.

In Fly Higher, Furness translates lessons learned under fire into military-grade mindfulness strategies for stronger self-leadership. Part memoir and part training manual for the mind, it teaches readers how to train their minds to feel as strong as they look.
