MENA-based Open Banking platform Tarabut has appointed Munthir Alsheddie from Arab National Bank as country manager for Saudi Arabia.

At Arab National Bank, Alsheddie had been serving as head of digital business since joining in June 2023.

Prior to that, he was head of products unit, payment at Riyad Bank for around three years.

His other experience includes roles at Mastercard and stc pay.

In a post on LinkedIn, Tarabut wrote: “With extensive banking experience and a focus on digital transformation and innovation, he is set to lead our operations in the Kingdom.

“Munthir will be key in steering the company as we continue to grow, reinforcing our commitment to the Kingdom’s financial sector.”

The appointment comes hot on the heels of a new partnership with Saudi Arabia-based savings platform Hakbah, which operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s $20.5 billion household savings market.

Last year, Tarabut made some additions to its senior leadership team, appointing Chun Ong as chief operating officer, who joined from digital mortgage lender Molo, followed by Tariq Sanad as chief financial officer, whose career has spanned nine years in corporate finance roles.
