Global technology and management consultancy Capco, a Wipro company, has appointed Naveen Kumar as a partner to lead its Canadian payments practice.

Kumar joins Capco Canada from Amrop, where he was a partner and Canadian head of digital, with responsibility for building clients’ digital strategies, end-to-end delivery of technology solutions, and cybersecurity strategies.

Lance Levy, chief executive officer of Capco, said: “Payments transformation, Open Banking and ESG are key priorities for Canadian financial services firms, and with Canadian payments providers looking to expand their capabilities to facilitate cross-border payments, Naveen’s appointment will enable us to enhance our offering across all these areas.

“We are delighted to welcome him to our Canada team.”

Prior to Amrop, Kumar held senior leadership roles at Info-Tech Research Group, KPMG, Citigroup, JP Morgan and IBM.

“Naveen brings strong leadership experience, deep expertise, and an impressive breadth of experience in financial services and consulting,” added Gary Teelucksingh, chief executive officer of Capco’s Canada business.

“His collaborative approach and proven track-record in building world-class teams and leading large-scale transformation projects will be immense assets to Capco Canada.”

Wipro is a stage partner at Open Banking Expo Canada on June 15, in Toronto – find out more about the agenda and register for tickets here.
