International merchant acquirer payabl. has joined the Visa Direct Preferred Partner Program, which provides support to launch, sell and grow real-time payment solutions.

By joining the program, payabl. extends its relationship with Visa and will get access to Visa Direct’s tools and resources.

The Visa Direct Preferred Partner program provides insights on real-time payment use cases, including funds disbursement, cross-border payments, account transfers and peer-to-peer.

It comes as payabl. reported 182% year-on-year growth recently, while its employee base has doubled after opening offices across Europe.

Ugne Buračienė, group CEO of payabl. said the company “must keep ahead of industry trends” and ensure its innovations align with the payment preferences of customers.

“As a Visa Direct Preferred Partner, we can leverage wider industry insights to ensure that we’re providing the best-in-class payments experience to our thriving ecosystem of merchants,” Buračienė said.

Theodoros Hadjistyllis, head of acquiring and Cyprus country manager at payabl. added: “Enabling real-time push payment solutions further enhances the payment experience for our customers, while contributing to our expansion.

“Accessing Visa’s support and expertise will accelerate our next-generation money movement services, allowing our merchants and their customers to reap the rewards of real-time funds delivery backed by Visa’s leading payment security.”

In May last year, payabl. appointed Igor Skachkov from buy now, pay later provider Klarna as its new chief product officer, to help drive the next stage of its product development.
