Global payments platform Trustly has partnered with Sweden’s largest booking platform for treatments and services, Bokadirekt, to enable instant payouts for more than 20,000 of the country’s salons.

Through the partnership with Trustly, Bokadirekt will be able to offer all merchants faster access to their funds, by processing instant payouts, rather than being “limited” by bank day cut-off times.

Beauty salons will receive funds from consumers directly into their bank accounts instantly, instead of having to wait one to three business days.

According to Gustaf Tunhammar, head of business development at Bokadirekt, two million bookings are processed on its platforms each month.

Olof Wirfelt, chief commercial officer at Trustly, said: “We have used our payment infrastructure to enable a technical solution in which over 20,000 beauty and health service providers across Sweden are able to receive payments for their services instantly.

“We believe this shows the advantages of Trustly’s fast and secure solutions, while empowering the connected merchants of Bokadirekt.”

“Providing the best payment experience for our merchants and customers is a key part of our long-term strategy,” Tunhammar added.

“With Trustly as our partner, we can offer faster payouts, which improves the liquidity of our merchants and provides a level of comfort that we have not been able to offer before. Trustly’s platform has also made the job for our team a lot easier, as it fully automates the payment submitting process.”

Trustly serves 8,100 merchants, connecting them with 525 million consumers and 6,300 banks in more than 30 countries.

Earlier this month, it announced a partnership with APEXX Global, a payment orchestration platform, to offer recurring payments to merchants.

In January, Trustly closed its acquisition of Ecospend, a UK-based Open Banking payments platform having announced the deal in 2022.
