Open Banking payments platform Token has hired Peter Ehmke as managing director of Token GmbH, to lead its operations in Berlin, Germany.

Ehmke has joined Token from professional services firm Accenture, where he was a managing director and partner.

Token CEO Todd Clyde said: “Peter brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this key role leading our operations in Germany.

“His appointment reflects Token’s ambition to further expand our operations and grow our position in this important market.”

Ehmke will join Artashes Torosyan, who joined Token earlier this year as chief technology officer based in Berlin.

Prior to working at Accenture, Ehmke acted as partner, CFO and head of North America for Edgar, Dunn & Company, and served as Mastercard’s managing director for Germany, and subsequently Mastercard’s head of strategy for Europe.

He also served as CEO and CFO of Santander Direkt Bank AG.

In all, Ehmke has 35 years of experience in financial services and 20 years’ payments experience.

This month, Token announced it has partnered with Berlin-based payment service provider Deutsche Payment to launch its Open Banking solution ‘PayThisWay’.

Token is the headline partner of this year’s Open Banking Expo Europe Confex on 30 September in Amsterdam. Click here to view the agenda and find out whether you qualify for a free ticket.
