Dyce Energy, which provides gas and electric to UK businesses, has extended its partnership with bank payment provider GoCardless for another three years.

The renewal of the contract marks the continuation of Dyce Energy’s six-year partnership with GoCardless to collect recurring payments through Direct Debit.

Currently, 96% of Dyce Energy’s customers make their monthly energy bill payments through GoCardless.

The efficiency and simplicity of Direct Debit payments have allowed Dyce Energy to maintain control over their cash flow during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and global energy crisis.

Carl Fisher, managing director of Dyce Energy, said: “We’re pleased to continue our partnership with GoCardless to keep providing our customers with fast and convenient Direct Debit payments.

“GoCardless ultimately gives us more control over when and how we get paid, and the round-the-clock support we receive from the GoCardless team has given us greater confidence in the solution.”

Fisher highlighted the importance of technology in managing and reconciling payments to keep costs low and support the company’s growth.

Pat Phelan, managing director of UK and Ireland and chief customer officer at GoCardless, pointed to the company’s commitment to helping Dyce Energy succeed in the energy industry by ensuring timely payments and enhancing customer retention.

“After a transformative few years for the energy industry, we’re proud to have helped Dyce Energy gain more control of their recurring payments, and are excited to continue this relationship,” added Phelan.

By extending its partnership with Dyce Energy, GoCardless solidifies its position in the utilities sector.

In November last year, GoCardless announced the extension of its partnership with Rebel Energy, a UK-based challenger energy supplier.

The relationship between GoCardless and Rebel Energy began in 2021, when Rebel Energy selected GoCardless to collect payments via Direct Debit,
