Ex-OBIE director David Beardmore joins Nuapay

Account-to-account payments platform Nuapay has appointed former Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) director David Beardmore as its Open Banking strategic advisor in-residence.

Beardmore, who was previously ecosystem development director at the OBIE, joined Nuapay in February.

In a statement on LinkedIn, Nuapay said: “With his impressive background as one of the pioneers of the Open Banking ecosystem in the UK, David brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our team, as we continue to shape the future of Open Banking and Open Finance.

“David has been at the forefront of Open Banking initiatives, previously leading efforts at the Open Data Institute and the Open Banking Implementation Entity, where he collaborates with governments and regulators around the world.”

Nuapay added: “We look forward to the valuable contributions David will make to delivering our mission at Nuapay.”

In January, Beardmore joined Raidiam as ecosystems development director.

On LinkedIn, Beardmore wrote: “Delighted to have joined Nuapay (an EML Payments business) in February in addition to a similar role at Raidiam!

“Thrilled to be continuing to contribute to Open Banking/Open Finance both in the UK and internationally with two fabulous organisations and some outstanding leaders!”

At the OBIE, he was responsible for engaging with all stakeholders and promoting the development of Open Banking use cases.
